Welcome to the photography blog of Melanie McDonald ! I'm a professional artist, my life is divided between my home in Newquay, Cornwall and my renovation project - an 18th Century farm - in North Brittany, France. My inspiration comes from the beautiful beaches, skies and seas of Cornwall, Brittany and Scotland. This is where I share my photographs, I hope it inspires you.
My Côtes d'Armor - Ploumanac'h Pink
Maybe it's because I'm a painter .... that I'm forever drawn to the pink rock mayhem of tumbling boulders, (reminiscent of Henry Moore natural sculptures). Or perhaps it's the fairy tale pink lighthouse which beguiles me. These photos were taken near the village of Ploumanac'h where you can join the coastal path at la plage de Saint-Guirec, with its distinctive Château de Costaérèson the horizon, another fairy tale rockpile! Along this section of the Côte de Granit Rose, the 'landes et rochers' are protected within a sympathetically designed national park.
